The Virginia’s Coaching Legends exhibit showcases some of the great coaches or athletic administrators from the Commonwealth. These outstanding mentors led their teams and organizations to an astounding number of wins and championships in their careers.

Virginia Sports Hall of Fame Stats
Over 70 Coaches/Administrators have been inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.
The first coach to be inducted was Dr. Robert “Whirlwind” Johnson in 1972, and the most is Mike Smith from the Class of 2025
