NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Powerhouse Boxing & Kickboxing will host the first Pernell “Sweet Pea” Whitaker Mid-Atlantic Classic July 26 at the Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Center in Norfolk.
The new event will feature 30 USA Boxing-sanctioned amateur boxing matches. Championship belts will be awarded.
Weigh-ins and physicals will take place between 8 and 10 a.m., doors open at noon and bouts begin at 1 p.m.
Admission is $20. The Kroc Center is at 1401 Ballentine Blvd. in Norfolk.
