Celebrating the storied careers of the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame’s newest inductees

(VIRGNIA BEACH, VA) – April 30, 2022 saw the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame welcome 11 new inductees and celebrate a Distinguished Virginia as part of the Hall’s 2022 Induction Ceremony at the Westin Hotel in Town Center of Virginia Beach. The 2022 event was the first since 2019 due to pandemic related postponements and cancellations, and the Hall welcomed a crowd of over 450 as it honored both the Classes of 2020 and 2022.
The 2022 Induction Ceremony was the culmination of a weekend full of events, beginning with a welcome party Friday April 29 at Three Notch’d Brewery. There the Hall of Fame welcomed the incoming inductees and their families to Three Notch’d for a relaxed evening that also featured on-site broadcasts from ESPN Radio 94.1, and WLNI Radio from Lynchburg, VA. The Hall of Fame and Three Notch’d recently rolled out “Enshrined Pale Ale”, a collaboration beer celebrating the Hall of Fame Induction Weekend events.
Induction Weekend continued the following morning, April 30, with Breakfast with Champions, where attendees got to enjoy breakfast with the new inductees, and also participate in a Q&A, and autograph session. Finally, the weekend culminated with the Hall of Fame’s VIP Reception & Ceremony, where sponsors, friends, family, and supporters got to meet & mingle with the Class of 2020 and Class of 2022, and ultimately see them inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.
The Hall is grateful to everyone who helped make 2022 Induction Weekend a success, from our inductees both past and present in attendance, to our sponsors, event attendees, and volunteers. Below you will see photos and videos from the weekend events. Please be sure to save the date for April 22, 2023 as the Hall of Fame celebrates its 50th Induction Weekend, and whatever you do, #ParticipateDontSpectate
