The Virginia Sports Hall of Fame, Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, and the Youth Sports Mental Health & Wellness Alliance are pleased to announce the first Alliance branded event, Monday, May 20 in Norfolk, VA:

Event: Developing the Youth Athlete – A Team Approach

Date: Monday, May 20, 2024

Time: 5:45 – 8 pm (program starts at 6:15)

Location: Chartway Arena, campus of Old Dominion University

Cost: FREE to attend. Food & refreshments will be provided from 5:45 – 6:15.

The event will feature a panel discussion and then two breakout sessions. One for coaches and parents lead by Becky Snow from the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), and one for youth/student-athletes, led by Alliance members. The athlete breakout session will be targeted to middle & high school aged athletes.

Youth and student-athlete mental health is a focus for the Hall of Fame, and this event will help us as we aim to increase the conversation and decrease the stigma around mental health in sports. This event is FREE and open to the public.
