Three new members will be inducted into the Carroll County High School Sports Hall of Fame on January 27, while Carroll County’s most famous athlete will be enshrined on the school’s Wall of Fame that evening.
Two members of Carroll County’s 2015 state championship softball team – Sydney Nester and Emily Cook – will be enshrined in the CCHS Sports Hall on Jan. 27 along with three-sport standout Lynn Conner, a 1979 graduate that many consider to be the best all-around male athlete the school has ever produced.
Going up that night on the CCHS Wall of Fame – reserved for athletes who have won national honors – will be Frank Beamer – a three-sport star at Hillsville High School. The ceremony will be held between varsity girls’ and varsity boys’ games with James River at CCHS on Jan. 27. A snow date has been scheduled for Feb. 3.
