WINCHESTER — Just over three years since he retired from the Washington Nationals, Ryan Zimmerman is still trying to figure out exactly what he wants to do with the rest of his life.
And for the former major leaguer who’s raising four kids while still being involved in baseball and nonprofit work, that may come as a shock to some people.
But for two days this weekend, Zimmerman had his purpose: serving as the Sports Marshal for the 98th Apple Blossom Festival.
Zimmerman, who spent all 16 years of his professional career with the Nationals in the major leagues, was glad to learn he was going to be the marshal after missing out on the opportunity in previous years because of schedule conflicts.
