Danville, VA – September 19, 2024 – The Wendell Scott Foundation proudly announces the induction of Wendell Scott, the first African American to win a race in NASCAR’s highest division, into the prestigious Automotive Hall of Fame. This historic recognition celebrates Wendell Scott’s pioneering legacy, courage, and resilience in breaking barriers in motorsports and beyond.

The induction ceremony will be held on September 19th, 6:00 PM at the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn Michigan, and it will honor Wendell Scott’s incredible journey from his hometown of Danville, Virginia, to becoming a legendary figure in the world of racing. Scott’s perseverance in the face of adversity and his significant contributions to motorsports have paved the way for greater diversity and inclusion in the automotive industry
