ODU Welcomes Temple for Anne Donovan Classic

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion women’s basketball continues its homestand this Wednesday as the Monarchs host Temple for the Anne Donovan Classic. Tip-off at Chartway Arena is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. EST.

The game is in honor of the late Anne Donovan, a 1988 inductee into the ODU Sports Hall of Fame who led the Lady Monarchs to the 1980 AIAW National Championship and three NCAA Final Four appearances. ODU’s all-time leading scorer, she won two Olympic gold medals as a player and coached Team USA to gold at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China.

Members of Donovan’s family will be in attendance Wednesday. Additionally, ODU alums and donors Wally and Linda Haislip will be recognized for establishing the Anne Donovan Women’s Basketball Endowed Scholarship.

Chip Tarkenton and Kim Aston will call the game on ESPN+ or fans can tune into the ODU Sports Radio Network to hear Matthew Hatfield and Susan Montgomery. Live stats will also be available.
