DURHAM – The Virginia High School Hall of Fame has announced its class of 2021 inductees, which includes Duke women’s basketball head coach Kara Lawson. Lawson is one of nine inductees that will be inducted on Sunday, February 6, 2022.
Lawson, in her second season as head coach of the Blue Devils, is originally from Alexandria, Va. She played basketball for West Springfield High School in Springfield, Va., before attending the University of Tennessee. Upon graduation in 2003 with a degree in Finance, Lawson entered the 2003 WNBA Draft and was selected as the fifth overall pick by the Detroit Shock.
