Chris Long’s Waterboys’ Charity Challenge raising funds at Birdwood Golf Course

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Dozens were at Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville Friday, April 19, driving and putting for a good cause.

The Chris Long Foundation hosted its Waterboys’ Charity Challenge. The foundation has been raising money for clean water for almost a decade. This golf event has been a big boost the last three years.

“We have to give people fresh opportunities to give and get involved and I think golf was a great pivot for us,” Long said.

Long’s dad, Howie, and brother, Kyle, were out on the golf course helping to raise money. The charity event featured many former athletes, including Terry Kirby and Joe Jacoby. Several of Long’s former teammates were there including Lagarette Blount and Jason Kelce, who were all a part of the Philadelphia Eagles 2017 Super Bowl championship team.
