(Virginia Beach, VA, January 10) – Baseball fans from the 757 and beyond descended upon Town Center of Virginia Beach Wednesday to hear from two local baseball legends. David Wright and Michael Cuddyer, both former Major League Baseball All-Stars and both from Chesapeake, VA, discussed all things baseball as part of the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame’s program 757th Inning Stretch, at Zeiders American Dream Theater.
With Bruce Rader from WAVY-TV and FOX 43 as host, Cuddyer and Wright shared stories ranging from Wright asking Cuddyer for his autograph as a youngster, to playing together in the World Series for the 2015 National League Champion New York Mets.
Cuddyer and Wright at many points had the crowd of 250 in attendance laughing hysterically, to the point you would have thought it was Abbott and Costello performing on the Zeiders stage. The two former all-stars talked about how the game has changed from their debuts through their retirements, where they see the game of baseball headed in the future, all while providing insight into their journeys from the little league fields in Virginia to the biggest stage in Major League Baseball.
The Hall of Fame would like to thank Zeiders Theater for providing an amazing venue for this wonderful event, and all of those that attended the event. 757th Inning Stretch was the first program as part of the Hall’s 2019 Program and Events Series presented by Priority Automotive Group. The Hall would like to thank its additional sponsors, Optima Health, ADS Management, Whiteclaw Hard Seltzer, Riesbeck Contracting, and WF Magann Corp.
