The Dirt on Sports

Science SOL 3.7

Agronomy, the science of soil management and crop production, is a pretty awesome career in the sports world. The people who do this may not be a player or coach, but they are just as important in the world of golf where they design and maintain the lush greens of a course. The VSHF is on a mission to open student’s eyes to STEM careers in sports. This program scratches the surface of the science of the lucrative career of soil management with plant classification, pH soil testing and soil drainage and the impact this science has on the sport of golf.
